Alta Alella + WineCraft Dinner
Wednesday, September 17th & Thursday, September 18th
The Aperture is excited and honored to announce our second wine dinner with our friends at WineCraft - our second collaboration, but certainly not the last. Once again, we’re highlighting one of the favorite producers of our General Manager and Wine Director, Kyla Mains - Alta Alella Winery.
Alta Alella is a family-run project which started more than twenty years ago by the enologist Josep Maria Pujol-Busquets and his wife Cristina Guillen. Located within the agricultural area of a natural park known as Serralada de Marina, Alta Alella is the closest winery to Barcelona, just a couple of kilometers from the Mediterranean Sea. The vineyards are planted on slopes and terraces ranging between 100 and 250 meters above sea level. The vines themselves are grown on Sauló soil, which is a determining factor in the character of Alta Alella wines - an acidic, white granite-based sand with low limestone content, low organic matter, and quality drainage. Fleeing from standardization, Josep Maria’s aim year-after-year is to produce ‘transparent’ wines that reflect soil and vintage characteristics. Harvest is carried out by hand, paying individual attention to each vine, and the winery works with micro-vintifications, numerous grape varieties, and innovative techniques - enabling the production of up to 50 different wines each year.
This collaborative dinner features a five-course tasting menu exclusively curated by our Chef de Cuisine, Scotty Roberson, and Sous Chefs Matthew Sweet and Paige Trout. The menu itself focuses on highlighting techniques and ingredients typical to the Catalonia region of Spain, while also maintaining a natural synergy with The Aperture’s broader Mediterranean style and influences. This is an exciting and inspired collaboration, and one that we’re certain will serve as a perfect way to kick-off the fall season for our guests.
Our five-course, tasting menu is available for $85 per guest, with an optional wine pairing for $40 per guest. Reservations are highly recommended. Please note that, given the nature of this menu, allergy and dietary accommodations will be extremely limited, particularly without advance notice.
